Day 1 - Boldogkőváralja, Monok
Kossuth’s birthplace in Monok hosts an exhibition that presents all the key stages of his life and work. In the cellar, visitors can explore a wine-related exhibition, while the courtyard wing features temporary exhibitions, offering a rich blend of history and cultural insight.
Day 2 - Tokaj, Bodrogkeresztúr, Mád
One of the cornerstones of Tokaj’s cultural quarter, the World Heritage Wine Museum is housed in the former Serház building. It offers visitors a closer encounter with the history, culture, and wines of the world’s World Heritage wine regions, placing Tokaj in a broader international context of viticultural heritage.
The Acetania Vinegar Museum offers a unique experience for anyone interested in discovering the past, present, and future of vinegar production. In addition to tasting different types of vinegar, visitors can also explore a collection featuring vinegars from various parts of the world, providing an unusual and engaging culinary journey.
One of Hungary’s most beautiful synagogues stands in the centre of Mád, preserved in excellent condition and open to visitors. The adjacent rabbi’s house can also be visited, where the former residence of the rabbi offers an additional glimpse into the site’s historical and cultural heritage.
Day 3 - Sárospatak, Hercegkút
The Megyer-hegy quarry lake was originally a millstone quarry, but today it has become one of the most popular attractions in the region, complete with a nearby lookout tower for visitors. This breathtakingly beautiful lake can be reached via the Malomkő educational trail, which leads you through the area’s unique natural and geological landscape.
